Automotive clips made easier to find, order and afford
Clips Warehouse supplies automotive body clips, fasteners, screws, rivets and related products to panel beaters, repair shops, automotive paint shops and professionals across South Africa.
Our roots in the industry go back to around 2010, when the business began supplying panel beaters throughout Gauteng, North West and Mpumalanga. We purchased Clips Warehouse from a friend in 2020 and continued building on those years of industry experience and established customer relationships.
From weekly visits to online ordering
Before moving online, we visited customers weekly to take orders and deliver stock in person. Through these regular visits, we noticed a common problem: workshops would run out of frequently used and urgently needed clips before our next visit.
This led to the development of our Smart Kits—carefully selected, marked boxes containing the items our customers used most often. To test the idea, we placed these kits with customers on consignment, allowing them to use the stock before deciding whether the system worked for their business.
It did.
Most of those customers went on to purchase their kits and now replenish them by ordering refills through our online store. This gives workshops a practical way to keep frequently used clips on hand without having to order every item individually or wait until they have already run out.
Adapting to a changing market
When COVID-19 disrupted traditional sales and travel costs increased, we realized that the weekly visit model was becoming less practical for both us and our customers. We adapted by taking Clips Warehouse online.
The automotive repair industry has traditionally relied heavily on in-person sales, but more panel beaters are discovering the benefits of ordering online. Customers can now check our range, place an order when it suits them and have their stock delivered—without waiting for a representative’s next visit.
Reducing unnecessary travel also helps us keep our prices competitive, passing those savings on to our customers.
